Description:

 

World Education, Inc. (WEI) seeks one or more experienced Technical Consultant(s) to support the USAID-funded Saint Lucia ConnectEd Activity, aimed at building resilience and improving the quality of teaching and learning in Saint Lucia by equipping youth and educators as digital literacy leaders in their communities. Saint Lucia ConnectEd will leverage innovative approaches and models, including WEI’s EdTEch Maker Space, to support teacher professional development, youth digital skills development, and other activities that result in open education resources (OER), which are digital tools that can be easily accessed, reused, and adapted by teachers.

 

Applicants are asked to highlight their expertise in line with the responsibilities below in their submission (e.g. cover letter, resume). 

 

Responsibilities:


 

  • Assist in the development and refinement of digital data collection tools to: 
    • Collect e-data on strength and gaps in PYD, digital skills instruction, and employability skills in Saint Lucia; 
    • Identify often-excluded groups, such as girls, youth with disabilities, out-of-school youth, and youth with prior convictions; 
  • Analyze e-data for trends to inform project activity design, implementation and sustainability; 
  • Conduct a literature review on national and regional policies and international best practices that support the mitigation of above-mentioned, identified digital skills and PYD gaps; 
  • Write a report summarizing the e-data analysis results, integrating literature review findings; 
  • Facilitate virtual workshops with national and international stakeholders from public and private sectors, including youth. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or higher in education, international educational development or a related field; 
  • Experience working in Saint Lucia or the broader Caribbean region on education programming; 
  • Knowledge and technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: digital learning, teacher training, positive youth development, inclusive education;
  • Experience developing digital assessments, surveys and other e-data collection tools;
  • Strong interpersonal, workshop facilitation and team work skills;
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and in writing, tailored to diverse audiences;
  • Experience using Google Suite and access to a Gmail account;
  • Comfortable in a remote working environment; 
  • Experience implementing education and youth-focused activities under USAID or similar programs preferred.
