CAMDU hosts discipline development seminar

THE CONFERENCE SENSITIZED EDUCATION DEPARTMENT HEADS ON THE POWER OF POSITIVE DISCIPLINE.

The Curriculum and Material Development Unit (CAMDU) within the Department of Education, Innovation, Gender Relations, and Sustainable Development, in collaboration with the Division of Human Services, hosted a Discipline Development Seminar to sensitize the heads of Departments of Education on positive discipline.

CAMDU has been effectively implementing child friendly schools across the island over the years. This is the 30th convention hosted by CAMDU with the aim of enhancing the education system in Saint Lucia.

Beverly-Ann Poyotte, the Acting Director in the Division of Human Services, presented on the work being done with the Juvenile Justice Project. She said that working with the communities and in environments in which young people engage plays an important role in helping to improve the abilities and mannerisms of young people.
