Clean up campaign in Canaries

RESIDENTS OF THE COMMUNITY JOINED IN THE ACTIVITY ALONG WITH OVER 50 VOLUNTEERS.

Climate change presents the single biggest threat to development.

Its widespread, unprecedented impact is already affecting the most vulnerable countries and populations, in particular, the least developed countries and Small Island Developing States like Saint Lucia.

In keeping with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals surrounding climate change, the Canaries Chapter of Volunteer Saint Lucia engaged in a clean-up campaign to help mitigate against the effects of climate change. In the spirit of Koudmen, the residents of the community joined in the activity along with over 50 volunteers.

President of the Canaries Chapter, David Henry, hopes that this form of volunteerism can steer residents towards creating a healthier and sustainable environment.

Volunteer Saint Lucia plans to continue its work in the community of Canaries with a day of pampering for senior citizens as part of Good Deeds Day, observed on April 7, and a soup kitchen.
