CCPF TO HOST CLUSTER DEVELOPMENT TRAINING STARTING MONDAY.

Business Support Organizations (BSO’s) are to benefit from a three separate Cluster Development Training programs spearheaded by the Compete Caribbean Partnership Facility (CCPF) and Export Saint Lucia.

The training program is geared at improving the quality of Cluster Development Plans and their potential impact on employment creation and revenue generation among vulnerable groups, the CCPF is investing heavily in building the capacity of BSOs to facilitate clusters.

At the end of the training program, the cluster facilitators will be better equipped to understand how to identify promising cluster initiatives in their own country using a market-driven approach, considering the local context; identify and coordinate cluster stakeholders to facilitate the completion of Cluster Development Plans (CDPs) eligible for funding by Compete Caribbean or others; mobilize key stakeholders to secure leadership from the private sector and strategic support from government and non-government organizations.

The media is invited to the opening ceremony on March 25, at the Bay Gardens Hotel, in the Bougainvillea Conference Room.

Export Saint Lucia is the Saint Lucian government’s national trade export and promotion agency and is the lead agency mandated to spearhead the island’s national export development effort. The overall objective is to increase aggregate volume and value of exports from Saint Lucia.
