THE CENTRALIZED LOCATION IMPROVED EFFICIENCY, CONVENIENCE.

The Ministry of Education has strategically standardized the registration process for students entering Kindergarten for the academic year 2020/2021.

Registration has been centralized at one location to make the processs more convenient.

Claudia Louis, the Chief Planning Officer at the Department of Education, explained the reason for centralization.

“In the past, parents would have to go from school to school only to be told that the school’s quota was already filled.”

The registration exercise targeted schools in districts two and three. The Ministry of Education also collaborated with the Ministry of Health to ensure that the students’ health cards, vaccinations and assessments were up to date.

“The nurses were very happy to come on board and we hope to have it as an annual activity,” Ms. Louis said.

Alexandra Jemmott, Family Nurse Practitioner, was part of the newly-initiated process.

“I think that is a very good initiative on our part as primary healthcare providers, because it will ensure that the children are fully up to date,” she said.

The registration process took place on Nov. 5.
