Enhancing Saint Lucia’s cruise tourism product

TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY FRONTLINE STAFF WILL RECEIVE TRAINING IN CUSTOMER SERVICE ENHANCEMENT.

The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA), Ministry of Tourism, Invest Saint Lucia and the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) have teamed up to ensure the continuous enhancement of Saint Lucia’s cruise tourism product.

In this vein, the organizations have collaborated to provide certified capacity building training to enhance customer service, for 240 frontline staff of onshore businesses who contribute to the visitor experience.

The training will be held at the Bougainvillea Conference Room of the Bay Gardens Hotel, and facilitated by Trainer and International Business Development Manager, Claudine Pohl of Aquila Center for Cruise Excellence.

Topics will include: The Impact of Tourism and the Important Cruise Sector, All About Shore Excursions and Destination Experiences, Understanding Cultural Differences, Managing Difficult Situations and Customer Complaints and Creating a Culture of Service and Exceeding Guest Experiences.

The training sessions will take place over a two-day period, on May 7 and 8.
