THE PROJECT WILL REPAIR APPROXIMATELY 1217 METERS OF ROAD.

The La Retraite Road Reconstruction Project is set to begin on Monday, May 25.

The project is being delivered under the Road Improvement and Maintenance Program Phase (IV) and will repair approximately 1217 meters of road. The project scope also includes the construction of drainage and retaining walls and road realignment. During the construction phases, sections of the road will be impassable and motorists will be alerted to use clearly demarked alternative routes.

Meanwhile, new roads are on the horizon for residents and motorists who traverse the Union/Marisule/Grand Riviere roads. This project is part of the Road Improvement and Maintenance Program Phase (IV), and began on May 12. The new roads are being constructed to be climate resilient. The project will rehabilitate approximately 4450 meters of road. The project scope also includes construction of drainage and retaining walls and improvement to residence access. As part of the current phase, construction teams have commenced drainage clearing. Surface reclamation is scheduled to start in the coming weeks.

Residents and motorists are advised that the construction activity will generate some inconveniences, dust, and noise pollution. The Department of Infrastructure apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and thanks residents for their patience and understanding.
