SERVICES WILL RESUME FOLLOWING COMPLETION OF HEALTH, SANITIZATION PROCEDURES.

Operations at the Micoud Fire Station remain suspended after an individual assigned to the station tested positive for COVID-19 on Oct. 22. The individual is currently receiving treatment at the respiratory hospital.

Chief Fire Officer, Joseph Joseph, said operations at the Micoud Fire Station will resume following completion of health and sanitization procedures.

“Staff on home quarantine and other members assigned to the station will undergo testing at various respiratory clinics. Arrangements will be made to get them to and from the clinics safely. Sanitization of the facility will take place on Monday Oct 26. It is anticipated that once the process is complete, fire suppression services at the Micoud Fire Station can resume as early as Tuesday, Oct. 27. EMS or ambulance services will resume when the station returns to full staffing capacity,” Mr. Joseph said.

The Chief Fire Officer added that all efforts are focused to returning to normal operations, and thanked residents of Micoud for their patience.

Residents are reminded to call 911 in the event of emergencies.
