THE PROJECT WAS SUPPORTED BY A $15,000 DONATION FROM BODYHOLIDAY SAINT LUCIA.

BodyHoliday Saint Lucia, in partnership with the Parliamentary Representative for Anse-La-Raye and Canaries, Minister for Tourism Hon. Dominic Fedee, have refurbished the washrooms at the Roseau Combined School.

Renovation work on the project began during the 2018 Christmas vacation, and was completed in time for the start of the January 2019 school term. The locally-owned hotel contributed a total $15, 500 to the project.

Jacqueline Scott, Cooperate Social Responsibility Officer, said the donation forms part of the mandate of BodyHoliday to care for individuals.

“Today we celebrate with the students of Roseau Combined and the entire school body something that they have been looking forward to for years. We are happy to be a part of it. BodyHoliday is about changing lives and changing situations and we want to know that when we support a beneficiary, that we have made their dream come true,” she said.

Tourism Minister Hon. Dominic Fedee encouraged students to be inspired by the special interest shown toward them, and to study hard and excel.

“BodyHoliday is telling us that communities like ours and their future are inextricably linked, and that there’s a strong bond between their success and our success. They see, in you, future managers of their resorts in Saint Lucia.”

The Principal of the Roseau Combined School stated that the project has been long-awaited. She expressed gratitude to BodyHoliday for its hard work and contribution, to ensure the completion of the project.

The opening ceremony for the newly-renovated washrooms took place on Jan. 10.
