Prime Minister visits Dominica

Dr. Anthony travelled to Dominica to witness the devastation caused by Tropical Storm Erika.

Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Economic Affairs, Planning and Social Security, Hon. Dr. Kenny D. Anthony departed Saint Lucia yesterday.

The Prime Minister embarked on a visit to the Commonwealth of Dominica, where he met with Prime Minister, Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit, and was able to observe first-hand the devastation caused by Tropical Storm Erika on Aug. 26.

Dr. Anthony travelled via a Trinidad and Tobago National Guard helicopter at 11 a.m. and returned at about 4 p.m. He was accompanied by Press Secretary Mrs. Jadia Jn. Pierre-Emmanuel and Mr. Cameron Browne, technician in the Office of the Prime Minister.

Saint Lucia's National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) is currently spearheading a drive to gather supplies for Dominica. The NEMO headquarters in Bisee, as well as post offices around Saint Lucia have been designated as drop off locations for relief items.
