THE EVENT HIGHLIGHTS THE IMPORTANCE OF PRODUCTIVITY TO ECONOMIC WELLBEING.

The Government of Saint Lucia in collaboration with the National Competitiveness and Productivity Council (NCPC) will, on October 15, host the official launch of Productivity Awareness Week 2018.

The theme for this year’s observance is “Innovation for Greater Productivity.”

Research has shown that productivity cannot really improve without innovation. Therefore, the activities slated for Productivity Awareness Week will highlight how innovation can lead to greater productivity and how ordinary Saint Lucians can be part of that process.

The NCPC and its technical unit is tasked with promoting an awareness and understanding of the importance of competitiveness and productivity to economic wellbeing.

When the inaugural Productivity Awareness Week was held in 2014, the idea was to create a platform which would not only further the objectives of the council, but similarly allow persons to take stock of their current practices and processes in an attempt to enhance productivity.

The press launch of the 2018 observance of Productivity Awareness Week will be held at the Finance Administrative Center, Pointe Seraphine, on Monday, Oct. 15, at 9 a.m.

Representatives from the Government of Saint Lucia, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank and the newly appointed Council will be in attendance.
