THREE CREATIVE COMPANIES WERE SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE.

Three Saint Lucian creative companies have been selected to participate in the Caribbean Export Development Agency’s Cultural and Creative Industries workshop.

Lisa Barton-Volney of De Kloze Line and De Zip Code; Danyl Daniel of FACE Media Productions; as well as Tony Wilkinson of Telwilky Productions Inc. will be the Saint Lucian contingent partaking in the two-day affair.

The regional development workshop being done in conjunction with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and Trinidad and Tobago Coalition of Services Industries (TTCIS), is targeted at persons in the creative industry particularly in the fields of fashion, music and animation.

Export Saint Lucia and the Saint Lucia Coalition of Service industries (SLCSI) was instrumental in getting the word out and ensuring that our Saint Lucian creatives were given the opportunity to capitalize on this initiative. The selection process saw several eager applicants, however in the end the submissions had to be shortlisted for the selection of Saint Lucia’s three participants.

The CCI workshop will focus on capacity building and will address areas such as export readiness; product development; creating a unique value proposition; branding and marketing; pricing; quality and standards: IP; opportunities under the EPA; and an introduction to export planning (SGG overview).

The Cultural and Creative Industries workshop will be held in Trinidad and Tobago from March 27 to 28.

Caribbean Export remains highly committed to the development of the Services sector in the Region. As such, it seeks to facilitate the participation of sector stakeholders in various regional and international platforms that will be both beneficial to stakeholders’ individual business development, and the Region’s overall services industry. Caribbean Export continues to rely on the expertise of the SLCSI and Export Saint Lucia to identify persons who would stand to significantly benefit from its intervention.
