The Soufriere Regional Development Foundation (SRDF) has announced the opening of the long-anticipated Soufriere Beach Park.

The project was conceptualized ten years ago, when the Soufriere Regional Development Foundation, together with the hotel sector recognized the need for recreational attractions within the area. Development plans were drawn up with assistance from the Taiwanese government.

The facility will employ one administrator, two janitors, seven wardens: including one beach ranger, two life guards, two hostesses, and one maintenance person. In addition, eleven local entrepreneurs will conduct business operations within the park.

The official opening ceremony for the Soufriere Beach Park will be held on Friday, April 5.
