The Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), His Excellency Douglas C.T. Shen, recently handed over a cheque valued at EC$2.5 million to the Ministry of Education.

The funds will be used to facilitate a number of initiatives including the integration of technology in classrooms, which is a major part of the shift being pursued by the ministry to prepare young people to manage the technological realities that they will face in the workplace and the opportunities it will present.

The Government of Taiwan provides several scholarships yearly to the people of Saint Lucia for study in various disciplines.
