THE ORGANIZATION RECENTLY MADE A DONATION THAT WILL AID FAMILIES LIVING WITH CEREBRAL PALSY.

Cerebral Palsy often referred to by its acronym, CP, is a lifelong condition that affects a child’s movement, motor skills, and muscle tone.

According to the Cerebral Palsy Association (CPA) of Saint Lucia, there are over 100 cases of children living with the condition, which not only impacts the children but also their parents because of the high-cost implications involved.

In response to this need, the BodyHoliday donated a total of EC $50,000 to the CPA. Deputy Managing Director for the hotel, Mr. Andrew Barnard said the aim of the Cares Foundation is to change people’s lives one person at a time.

Kelly Louis-Volney, an employee of the BodyHoliday, is a parent raising a child with CP. She said the initiative could not have been timelier. The funding will enable her to get a wheelchair for her nine-year-old daughter, which, she said “will go a long way.”

The Cares Foundation is a joint collaboration between The BodyHoliday and Rendezvous St. Lucia and focuses on three main areas of priority: mental health, education and vision.
