NORTHERN LEEWARD ISLANDS TO EXPECT HEAVY SHOWERS, THUNDERSTORMS AND GUSTY WINDS.

An area of disturbed weather located just east of the north-eastern Caribbean islands is expected to bring cloudy conditions, heavy showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds to those islands on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Environmental conditions are forecast to gradually become more conducive for the development of this system as it moves westward to west-northwestward over the next few days, passing near or north of the Leeward Islands, Puerto Rico, Hispaniola, and the Southeastern Bahamas.

As of midday on Monday, Nov. 12, the forecast for Saint Lucia, for the next 24 hours indicates that winds will be blowing from between the east and east-southeast near 16 mph or 26 km/h, with partly cloudy skies, becoming cloudy at times with some scattered showers and a chance of thunderstorms mainly during the afternoon and night.

Moisture and instability associated with a trough system will continue to cause some cloudy spells with showers and isolated thunderstorms over the Lesser Antilles during the next 24 hours.
