THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO VOTE FOR A FAVOURED OPTION.

The Ministry of Tourism, Information and Broadcasting, Culture and Creative Industries through the OECS Regional Tourism Competitiveness project (ORTCP), has completed design options for the pedestrianisation of the William Peter Boulevard in Castries.

The ministry invites all residents to view (via Facebook) the designs and select the favoured option.

Option 1 - full pedestrianisation; Option 2 - partial pedestrianisation: One-Way Traffic from Bridge Street to Laborie Street with dog leg street; Option 3 - partial pedestrianisation. One-Way Traffic from Bridge Street to Laborie Street: A straight street with a fixed pavilion.

Option 4 – Shared Street Concept: Two-way Traffic with 10 parking lots - five on each side. Bollards are used to separate pedestrian area from moving traffic.

Viewers should also note that while all options represent some variation of pedestrianization, Option 1 presents the only full pedestrianization option. There are three versions of Option 1. All options comprise, an information kiosk which could also be used as a security station, restrooms, seating area, landscape area, and open-space for multi-purpose use.

Choose your favourite option by posting a comment on Facebook or send an email to ortcpslu@govt.lc
