Prime Minister Dr Kenny D. Anthony disclosed last week that the Government of Venezuela has agreed to provide an additional 7,000 computers to the Ministry of Education. The Ministry of Education will distribute the new laptops to local students, as the government strengthens its introduction of Information Technology to education through schools, teachers and students. The computers, when received, will be distributed to students in forms three and four at secondary schools island-wide.

The Government had previously requested the computers through Saint Lucia’s Ambassador to ALBA and PetroCaribe, Ambassador Vincent Eustace Vitalis. The Prime Minister made the announcement at the recent 2014 SLP Annual Conference of Delegates.
