Alert level for submarine volcano raised

AN ORANGE ALERT MEANS HIGHLY ELEVATED LEVELS OF SEISMIC ACTIVITY.

The alert level for Kick “em Jenny, the submarine volcano located off the coast of Grenada, has been raised to ORANGE. An orange alert means that highly elevated levels of seismic and/or fumarolic activity or other unusual activity has been observed and that an eruption may begin with less than 24 hours’ notice.

NEMO wishes to indicate that there is no imminent threat to Saint Lucia at this time. However, the organization will remain in close contact with authorities in Grenada and the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre in Trinidad for relevant updates which will be shared with the public.
