Government House will host a grand Charity Banquet and Ball on Saturday June 9th , 2012 from 7pm.

Perhaps the most spectacular event on the Diamond Jubilee Calendar, the Black Tie Affair will include a gourmet charity dinner, followed by dancing to the accompaniment of a full orchestra by the Royal Saint Lucia Police Band.

Event Coordinator Eileen Paul says the proceeds of the event will go towards several charities supported by Government House. "We have a seating capacity for two hundred people and we want to keep the event in such a way where people will have an enjoyable experience and toast to Her Majesty the Queen on her Diamond Jubilee. In addition to that we want patrons to have a photo with the Governor General and these pictures will be handed over to patrons upon leaving the function".

The Coordinator says the event will be held under the theme"A Diamond Moment In Time?. "So it is really a Diamond Affair and the cost for the evening is EC$350 for a single and we have discounted that for couples, we also have special rates for firms and corporate entities who may wish to buy a table, we have twenty tables with seating for ten on each table, I also want to emphasise that it is in the La Pavillion Royal Museum that we are presenting the event".

Saturday`s Diamond Jubilee Charity Banquet and Ball will be held under the distinguished patronage of the Governor General Her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy.

Meantime, Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee celebrations reached a colourful climax Tuesday as she and other members of the royal family appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for a flypast.

Huge crowds of well-wishers gathered to cheer the queen as she travelled by carriage procession from Westminster to Buckingham Palace.
