A FRAMEWORK FOR REOPENING WILL BE DISCUSSED TODAY, MAY 15.

The Government of Saint Lucia is continuing its strategic approach to Saint Lucia’s COVID-19 response which has led to our island’s keen management of the crisis and the announced recovery of all 18 confirmed cases.

As the Government charts the road to recovery, plans are being shared for the measured and phased approach to reopening Saint Lucia’s society. The framework for reopening will be shared at a National Consultation from 10:00am today May 15th 2020.

Following opening statements by Prime Minister Honourable Allen Chastanet, the plan will be presented by the Saint Lucia’s Command Centre team which includes Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Sharon Belmar-George, Delivery Unit Director Charon Gardner-Hippolyte and Permanent Secretary for Tourism Donalyn Vittet. The Prime Minister has explained that the five-phased strategic reopening focuses on health, safety and the general well-being of the public and has taken into account advice from public health experts and feedback from various stakeholders.

The meeting will outline specifically the types of business that may operate, and level of activity permitted at each phase. The session will also provide the requirements for businesses and organisations across each sector to operate based on national COVID-19 protocols.

The opening of today’s meeting and the presentation will be carried live via the National Television Network (NTN), the Government YouTube and facebook pages, via the following:
