IN ADDITION TO ENHANCING GENERAL AESTHETICS, THE INTERVENTION ALSO IMPROVES PUBLIC SAFETY.

Over the past week, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ports, Energy, and Labour undertook maintenance work, and the clean-up of the Castries-Gros Islet Highway between the Vigie and Choc roundabouts, in preparation for Independence celebrations.

The mission entailed cleaning the median barriers and bollards, and painting the kerbs of the traffic circles or roundabouts. In addition to enhancing general highway aesthetics, the intervention also serves to increase public safety.

In related developments, the Government of Saint Lucia will, in March, launch a robust, islandwide Roads Safety Programme with support from the UK Government. The program is part of government’s thrust to implement enhanced road safety measures around the island.
