The National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) is encouraging residents to be prepared in advance for natural disasters.

Velda Joseph, Director of NEMO said advanced planning and preparation can save lives and protect property.

Joseph said that citizens should pay close attention to weather forecasts and the directions given by the Met Office.

 NEMO encourages the public to be equally prepared year-round, and to heed all watches and warnings issued by the Saint Lucia Meteorological Service, the official weather information source for Saint Lucia.
