Mr. Independence Pageant to be held in February

TEN YOUNG MEN REPRESENTING VARIOUS DISTRICTS IN SAINT LUCIA WILL COMPETE.

The Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with Gregory Lord Productions will host the first ever Mr. Independence Youth Development Pageant.

Ten young men representing various districts in Saint Lucia will compete for the title of “Mr. Independence Saint Lucia.”

The pageant will be held under the theme “Embracing Diversity, The Key to Unity,” and is intended to deepen the understanding and consciousness of young men of the need to make informed decisions that will positively impact their lives. The pageant is committed to the promotion of the values and principles of the Commonwealth group of countries as enshrined in the Harare Declaration of 1991, including Empowerment, Equality, Democracy, Human Rights, Dialogue, Cooperation and Peace.

The event will be held on Feb. 10 at the National Cultural Centre, Barnard Hill, Castries. The pageant begins at 7 p.m.
