BINS FOR BEACH USE WILL BE DONATED BY HARRIS PAINTS.

The National Conservation Authority (NCA) will, on Wednesday, be the recipient of a donation that will encourage proper waste disposal at the island’s beaches.

The contribution of bins will be made by corporate donor, Harris Paints (Saint Lucia) Ltd. The garbage bins will help lessen contamination of the environment, and contain pollution that can have devastating health effects.

According to the NCA, the indiscriminate dumping of garbage on beaches poses problems to the country’s marine life, and presents health risks to beach users and the general public.

The NCA was established in 1999 with a mission is to manage, conserve and provide stewardship over Saint Lucia’s natural assets.

The handover ceremony will be held at Harris Paints, Bois d’Orange on Jan. 30, at 10 a.m.
