Quarantined cruise ship departs for Dutch Caribbean

A CRUISE SHIP QUARANTINED DUE TO MEASLES DEPARTED ON MAY 2.

The Department of Health and Wellness confirms the departure of the cruise ship quarantined by health officials due to a confirmed case of measles. The ship departed on May 2 for its home port in the Dutch Caribbean.

The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Merlene Fredericks, thanked partner agencies like the ship’s agent, tourism agencies, the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) and port police, the marine unit of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, and other government agencies for their support and cooperation during the intervention.
