TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTY WHEELCHAIRS WERE DONATED TO CITIZENS IN NEED.

The Rotary Club of Gros Islet, along with Rotary Satellite Club of Saint Lucia Sunset, have teamed up with the World WheelChair Foundation to donate approximately 280 wheelchairs to citizens in need.

Twenty-eight specialist chairs were specifically designed for the Child Development Guidance Centre. The remainder were distributed throughout the island.

Elaine Clement, Pediatric Development Therapist at the Child Development Guidance Centre, said the Rotary went above and beyond to assist the Centre.

Lisle Chase, the Past President of the Rotary Club, said the CDGC and the Rotary have a longstanding relationship, which he hopes will continue.

For Rotary Club teamed up with the Lion Clubs of Vieux Fort and Micoud to distribute chairs in the south of the island.

This is third year that the Rotary Clubs of Saint Lucia have donated wheelchairs to the CDGC.
