Saint Lucia records 13 new cases of COVID-19

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs today Monday, November 1, 2021 confirms a total of thirteen (13) new cases of COVID-19. These cases were processed on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at the Ezra Long Laboratory from a total of 91 samples which were collected between October 29 and October 30, 2021. This number of positive cases makes up 14.3% of all the samples processed on that date. These new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in-country to date to 12,586.

The Ministry of Health also reports three (3) new COVID-19 deaths. These deaths took place between October 29 and October 30. To date, the total number of COVID-19 deaths in country is 196 and the total number of COVID-19 related deaths is 62.

COVID-19 death #194 is an 82 year old female from the Micoud district. COVID-19 death #195 is a 73 year old female from the Babonneau district. And COVID-19 death #196 is a 72 year old female from the Castries district.

Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 24 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19. This brings the number of active cases in-country to 334. Currently, one (1) individual is in a critical state and six (5) others are severely ill at the Respiratory Hospital. To date, a total of 41,893 Saint Lucians have been fully vaccinated. Another 9393 are partially vaccinated and 228 have received their booster shot. 

Vaccinations will resume on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the Vigie Sports Complex, Gros Islet Polyclinic, Micoud Multi-Purpose Centre, Vieux-Fort R.C. Parish Hall and the La Resource Constituency Council. Vaccinations are scheduled for distribution at all sites from 9 am to 5 pm.
