SALCC to offer professional training in animation

ALL INTERESTED ARE TO ATTEND AN ANIMATION HACKATHON ON WEDNESDAY, AUG. 28.

The Sir Arthur Lewis Community College in collaboration with Malfini Inc will be offering professional training in animation, commencing this academic year September 2019-2020.

The college therefore invites all interested to attend an Animation Hackathon on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 1 p.m. or at 4 p.m. at the Division of Technical Education and Management Studies, at Morne Fortune.

The programme in animation is a professional certification that will be offered over a one-year period facilitated by Malfini Inc who is an authorized training center for Toon Boom Animation Inc.

The course will therefore lead to a Toon Boom certificate in 2D Animation. Students will receive instruction in Animation Principles, Storyboarding and Drawing Basics. Students will also complete an internship within the certificate program.

The hackathon will give an introduction to the software, provide hands on interactive experience to participants and answer any questions which they may have.
