CLOTHING AND EDUCATIONAL SUPPLIES WERE DONATED BY THE JOSEPH MC VANE FOUNDATION.

The Ministry of Education, the Joseph Mc Vane Foundation, and Zippy Shipping have collaborated to donate clothing and school supplies to the Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary School.

Nerissa James of the Joseph Mc Vane Foundation stated that the Foundation is dedicated to improving education and providing sporting supplies for secondary schools around the island.

“So far we have partnered with the Soufriere Comprehensive School to ensure that some of their services and supplies needs are met. At this point we have donated a series of clothing items and educational supplies to the school with the intent that these services would be used for the most disadvantaged students,” she said.

“Chrisentia Combie, Vice Principal of the Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary School, expressed gratitude to the Foundation for the donations received.

“We are hoping to target various aspects of our main curriculum,” she said. “One of the projects that we have is a co-curricular activity where the students have embraced a mentorship program with students from the Soufriere Primary School. We shall use some of the items they have given and provide motivational and character building messages.”

Combie added that the donated clothing will be sold at a school flea market, to raise much needed funds for the school.
