The Minister for Infrastructure yesterday announced the construction of a swimming facility in Carellie in order to increase young people’s accessibility to varied facilities and programs.

Hon. Stephenson King, said: “As Parliamentary Representative for the constituency of Castries North, I firmly believe that our youth deserve equal access and opportunity. This is why we are currently constructing a public swimming pool in Carellie. This facility will be home to an active grassroots swimming programme. I look forward to the official opening of the facility and the rise of renowned young swimmers.”

The facility, when complete, will offer programs that will be managed with support from the Saint Lucia Amateur Swimming Association, the minister said.
