THE COACHING TEAM IS INTENT ON IMPROVING THE SKILLSETS OF LOCAL TABLE TENNIS PLAYERS.

The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) continues its support of table tennis in Saint Lucia through a new volunteer coach.

Roslyn Lee (29), who will serve as the only female table tennis coach in Saint Lucia for the next year, was presented to the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports at a press conference on Tuesday. By Wednesday, she had already met with junior table tennis players at the National Table Tennis Centre and began coaching students at the Ave Maria Girls’ Primary School.

Chris Wells, the National Table Tennis Coach described her as bubbly, and her routine as intense. Roslyn now joins him and Coach Stephen Joseph in improving the skillsets of local table tennis players.

At Tuesday’s press briefing, the enthusiastic Taiwanese volunteer told the media that she looked forward to the full Saint Lucian experience while coaching. She replaces volunteer coach William Lien who ended his volunteer service last year.

Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports, Liota Charlemagne-Mason, was on hand to receive Ms. Lee. She expressed appreciation to the Embassy for its continued support of table tennis in Saint Lucia.

Head Coach Wells is confident that Coach Lee will make a great impact. He thanked the Taiwanese Embassy for its continued assistance.
The press conference was held on May 21, at the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports.
