THE SERVICE AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT SESSIONS ARE PART OF THE CASTRIES MARKET REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT.

Castries Market vendors recently participated in the third training program that seeks to sensitize vendors about the Castries Market Redevelopment project and its related activities.

The program was undertaken by the Ministry of Tourism, as part of the OECS Regional Tourism Competitiveness Project (ORTCP).

Communications liason with the project, Tecla Fontenard, said the training will ultimately enhance tourism product offerings in Saint Lucia.

During the five-day training program, vendors listened to presentations from the Saint Lucia Bureau of Standards, Export Saint Lucia, Belfund and TVET on the requisite standards and certifications for offering goods and services, the importance of product quality and as well as good business management and customer relations. Participants described the training as educational and transformative, citing the need for constant improvement when dealing with customers.

All vendors received a certificate of participation upon completion of the training exercise.
