AUSTRIAN GOVERNMENT 2016 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

The Ministry of Education, Human Resource Development and Labour hereby informs of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) call for applicants for the Scholarships for ADC Priority Countries (http://www.entwicklung.at/en/countries-and-regions) tenable at the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management in Salzburg, Austria.  

These programmes are intended for persons who have already gained professional experience in their related fields who wish to acquire additional training through the use of new technologies.  Diplomas are available in Tourism Management and in Hospitality Management and a Certificate in Teacher Training, commencing October 2016.  
  
The Tourism Management and Hospitality Management programmes are of an eight (8) months duration commencing October 2016 to May 2017.  Additional information on these programmes is available at the following link, http://en.ts-salzburg.at/media/626371/52_information_booklet_ith.pdf

Value of the Award
The scholarship will cover:

  • Airfare; 
  • Academic cost;
  • Health Insurance;
  • Meals;
  • Excursions (except field trip to ITB Berlin);
  • Accommodation for the duration of the course; and
  • Allowance of € 205 Euros. 

To be eligible for selection an applicant must:

  1. be a citizen of Saint Lucia; 
  2. not be over 35 years of age;
  3. possess GCE – A” Levels or equivalent which enables enrollment at a university; and
  4. have at least one (1) year work experience in the hotel or tourism industry.

Not included in the scholarship are:

  • Transfers from the airport to the Institute’s hostel and back to the airport when leaving
  • Visa fee must be paid by the applicant. The entry visa is (Visa D) approximately €100, - and the months residence permit, which will be issued in Salzburg at the cost of €120. An amount of € 80 must be paid to the embassy and the balance of € 40 must be paid before collecting the residence permit.

The deadline date for submission of application packages for the Austrian Scholarship Programme to the Department of Human Resource Development is Monday, April 11, 2016.
