The Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF) 2020 Scholarships to Caribbean Nationals at Caribbean and International Universities to Pursue Undergraduate and Postgraduate Degrees Programmes

 

The Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF) invites applications for scholarships to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in hazard/disaster related disciplines such as disaster risk management (DRM), disaster risk financing, natural resources management, climate change, civil with environmental engineering, actuarial science, meteorology, and other similar areas.

 

The scholarships are tenable at the following universities: UWI (all campuses); University of Technology, Jamaica; Northern Caribbean University (Jamaica); University of Guyana; and University of Suriname as well as other accredited universities in the USA, UK and Canada. Additional information is provided in the table below:

 

CCRIF Scholarship Programme

Minimum of 8 Postgraduate scholarships per year

  • 1 Extra-Regional Scholarship
  • Value up to US$40,000
  • Students must be admitted to a university in the United Kingdom, United States or Canada for study areas related to DRM, Climate Change, Environment, Engineering, Actual Science etc.
  • 6 Caribbean Scholarships
  • Value US$11,000 each
  • Students must be admitted to: University of the West Indies; University of Technology, Jamaica; Northern Caribbean University (Jamaica); University of Guyana; or University of Suriname in areas similar to the extra-regional scholarship
  • Special Scholarships
  • Value up to US$11,000
  • For students enrolled in the UWI-CCRIF course Fundamental of Disaster Risk Financing (with emphasis on CCRIF Parametric Insurance Policies) for Advancing the Development of Small Island Developing States (SIDS) – on UWI Open Campus starting August 2020.

4 Undergraduate Scholarships per year

  • 4 Scholarships
  • Value US$4,000 per year for 2 years (2nd and final year)
  • Students must apply at the end of their 1st year
  • Students must be registered at one of the UWI campuses and pursuing select degrees related to DRM, civil engineering, geography, environmental management etc.

CCRIF-UWI UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

CCRIF-UWI POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

English is the offi­cial lan­guage of CCRIF and therefore all applications must be submitted in English.
