Advertisement for Business Development Officer

The Youth Economy Agency (YEA) is seeking a Business Development Officer to provide exceptional customer service by maximising approvals and mitigate risk through timely and accurate processing of applications, within specified turnaround times, according to established policy, procedures and guidelines.  The incumbent will establish long-term relationships with clients, help evaluate business performance and identify ways clients’ businesses can grow and expand. Additionally, the Business Development Officer will ensure that all interventions by the YEA are in keeping with the Agency’s strategic priorities.

Deadline for submission is Monday 30^th January, 2023 at 4:30 pm.

KEY FUNCTIONS

1. Review applications to the YEA for specific information, including risk, capacity and character to determine credit worthiness;

2. Compile credit evaluation, summarizing pertinent data from file review, ending with conclusion and recommendation to the Evaluation Committee;

3. Build relationships with each client, assessing their needs, assisting them with setting achievable goals and developing strategies to meet their business goals;

4. Monitor and measure client successes, and, where necessary, recommend further courses of action;

5. Work closely with Training and Development Officer to ensure that clients receive appropriate training customised to their needs; and

6. Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

• Five (5) or more years’ working experience in commercial credit;
• Strong understanding of business management, market trends, project management, marketing and financial reporting;

• Advanced familiarity with financial statement ratio analysis;
• A Bachelor’s Degree or substantial prior management experience and responsibility in in fields related to Business Management or a similar field; and
• High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis and/or reasoning.
