VACANCY

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following positions:

JOB TITLE: Analyst/Programmer

Purpose

• To develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the business requirements pertaining to the Financial Information Management System (FMIS) and/or the HR/Payroll Systems of the Government of St. Lucia.

• To monitor and enforce the security and protection of the systems

• To analyse client requirements and provide analysis, design, development, testing and documentation services in order to develop new supporting applications for the systems

• To maintain existing supporting applications to the systems

• To develop and maintain standard and ad hoc reports based on system data

• To assist the Information Technology Manager in all aspects of the computing environment.

Location

• Castries, Saint Lucia

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in a computer-related discipline.

• At least two (2) years of experience in the computing environment.

• Competence in the Transact-SQL Query Language would be an asset.

• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SRS) would be an asset

• Ability to program in Visual Basic/Microsoft Access.

• Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures would be an asset

• Knowledge of the SmartStream suite of programs would be an asset

• Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to appreciate and effectively address users’ needs.

• Database creation and management skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work in teams and strong conflict resolution skills.

• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
