CALL FOR PROJECTS
UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE VOLUNTEERS
The World Heritage Volunteers (WHV) Initiative was launched in 2008 in collaboration with the Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service (CCIVS) to mobilise and involve young people and youth organisations in World Heritage preservation and promotion. Today, the global campaign is coordinated by the UNESCO World Heritage Centre in cooperation with Better World.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the UNESCO World Heritage Convention, the WHV seeks to meet the challenge of ‘The Next 50’ years by involving young people, communities and site managers in building together new, inclusive societies where UNESCO World Heritage is a source of resilience, humanity and innovation, beyond the constraints of geography and cultures.
It is in this context of celebration and regeneration of youth and community volunteer efforts for heritage that the Call for Projects for the ‘World Heritage Volunteers - Working on the Future’ has been launched. This Call is an invitation for organizations and institutions to apply for the WHV 2023 Campaign with their proposed projects, and implement action camps, ideally between April and October 2023, in their communities.
Applications are to be made online via World Heritage Volunteers - Volontariat pour le patrimoine mondialApplication Form - Formulaire de candidature Survey (surveymonkey.com). Deadline for the submission of project applications is 31st December 2022, 23:59 CET (Paris Time).
