Job Title: Due Diligence Officer
Term: Two year contract
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
ABOUT THE CITIZENSHIP BY INVESTMENT UNIT
The Citizenship by Investment Unit is the government agency responsible for the administration of the Citizenship by Investment Programme. The Unit is accountable to the Citizenship by Investment Board. The Citizenship by Investment Board is seeking to recruit a Due Diligence Officer to join the team at the Citizenship by Investment Unit.
Position Overview
Working under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Due Diligence Officer will be responsible for coordinating the due diligence on all applicants to the Citizenship by Investment Unit either through conducting his/her own investigations or through collaboration with a due diligence service provider.
General Responsibilities
• Process requests for due diligence reports for applicants to the Citizenship by Investment Programme.
• Communicate effectively with due diligence service providers to retrieve additional information as needed.
• Supply timely updates and notifications of delays in getting reports to the CEO.
• Interpret the due diligence report in order to make a recommendation to the Chief Executive Officer on the application for citizenship.
• Conduct criminal background checks, civil lawsuit checks using the resources available to the Unit.
• Edit reports for grammar and content to ensure high quality in the end product.
• Prepare summary of due diligence reports highlighting areas of note for the Chief Executive Officer and the Citizenship by Investment Board.
• Attend all meetings of the Unit.
• Perform such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Chief Executive Officer.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree preferably in Humanities, Criminal Justice or Research or an equivalent amount of education and experience
• Excellent internet research skills.
• Organize documents, reports, and research.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate instructional request to clients, staff and applicants,
• Reasoning and critical listening skills
• Must be detail oriented.
• Ability to make decisions that consider relevant facts and information, potential risks and benefits, and short- and long-term consequences or alternatives even when information received is impartial, complex or incomplete.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a pleasant demeanour.
