Labour Code

The Labour Code consolidate and reform legislation applicable to labour and industrial relations in Saint Lucia taking into account existing local standards and international labour law standard.

Sections of the Labour Code include:

Terms and Conditions of - contracts of employment, continuity of employment, hours of work, minimum wages, sick leave and benefits, vacation leave, employment of children and young persons, termination of employment, and termination benefits.

Occupational Safety and Health - registration and requirements of industrial establishments, hazardous chemicals and biological agents, and notification of accidents and occupational diseases.

Equality of Opportunity and Treatment in Employment - discrimination, pregnancy and maternity benefits, and protection

Recruitment of Employees for Overseas Employment and Work Permit

Trade Unions and Employers' Organisations

Principles and Procedures in Industrial Relations and Industrial Disputes
