THE MINISTRY WAS PLEASED TO PARTNER WITH CPL IN ADVANCING THE INITIATIVE AND USING THE EXCITEMENT...

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Nutrition partnered with the Caribbean Premier League  (CPL) to bring health promotion and wellness services directly to patrons attending the CPL  home games in Saint Lucia. The collaboration forms part of a wider CPL initiative aimed at  promoting health and wellness at games throughout the Caribbean.

Dr. Delphina Vernor the Senior Medial Officer for Urgent Care and Health Disaster Management said the Ministry was pleased to partner with CPL in advancing the initiative and  using the excitement surrounding the games as an opportunity to connect with members of the  public. Patrons attending the games were able to access a range of health services and  educational activities through several interactive stations operated by various departments and  units within the Ministry.

One of the key services offered was screening for high blood pressure and diabetes. Individuals  were able to have their blood pressure and blood sugar levels checked and receive counselling  based on their results. The initiative also featured a nutrition station, where members of the  public received practical guidance on healthy eating and making informed dietary choices.

Recognizing the importance of a comprehensive approach to health, the initiative also included  sexual health education and information on oral health. The Ministry's dental health team  engaged directly with patrons, highlighting the importance of maintaining good oral health as  part of overall health and well-being. Interactive activities, health-related prizes and  opportunities for patrons to ask questions and receive guidance from health professionals further  enhanced the experience.

Through partnerships such as this, the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Nutrition continues to  encourage individuals to take a proactive approach to their health, get screened, make informed  lifestyle choices and seek appropriate care when needed.
