H.E. Dame Pearlette attended the celebration commemorating the first autonomous government in Buenos Aires, and the eventual emancipation of Argentina from Spanish colonial rule.

Her Excellency Governor General Dame Pearlette Louisy, along with high government authorities, diplomatic corps, and other distinguished guests, on Tuesday attended a reception hosted by Ambassador Luis Martínez Thomas on the occasion of the 205th anniversary of the May Revolution.

The Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Saint Lucia commemorated the events of May 25, 1810, which led to the first autonomous government in Buenos Aires and culminated with the emancipation of Argentina from Spanish colonial rule, with a reception at the Saint Lucia Golf and Country Club.

The event featured live folklore and tango performances by dancers Oscar Caballero and Karel Wolberg, and musicians Lorena Guillén and Alejandro Rutty, followed by a photographic exhibition of artist Palmiro Bedeschi and, finally, a wine tasting accompanied by traditional "empanadas" (Argentine meat pies).

The Embassy of Argentina wishes to thank all the guests for their presence.
