As the Central statistical office of Saint Lucia commences preparations for the 2020 Population and Housing Census, the Department wishes to announce the launch of three separate competitions.

These competitions are stated as follows:

A School’s Slogan Competition: This competition is restricted to primary and secondary schools on the island. Participants must submit original slogans promoting Saint Lucia’s 2020 Population and Housing Census. Slogans must be catchy and no more than 10 words each. Both Creole and English versions will be accepted.

A People’s Choice Slogan Competition: This competition is open to all residents of Saint Lucia. The winning slogan will be voted for by members of the general public.

A Logo Competition: This competition is also open to the general public. Participants are invited to submit original logo designs representing Saint Lucia’s 2020 Population and Housing Census. Logos should take the form of a graphic mark, emblem, or symbol used specifically to promote the 2020 Census.

The competitions open on Nov. 8 and close on Dec. 18. Interested persons must submit slogans and logos to statsdept@govt.lc. All submissions must include the subject lines “Saint Lucia 2020 Population and Housing Census SLOGAN Competition” and “Saint Lucia 2020 Population and Housing Census LOGO Competition” for the slogan and logo competitions, respectively. Students participating in the Schools’ Competition should indicate what school they currently attend.

The winner of the slogan competitions will receive a prize of an Android tablet and the winning slogan will become the official slogan for the 2020 Population and Housing Census. The winner of the logo competition will receive an Android Tablet along with a cash prize. Prizes will be awarded at the official launch of the 2020 Census in January 2020.
