HELD UNDER THE THEME "ITS NOT WEAK TO SPEAK", THE SESSION PROVIDED A SAFE ADN SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR MALE STAFF MEMBERS TO DISCUSS MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES, EXPLORE AVAILABLE SUPPORT SERVICES, ETC
Male employees within the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Security participated in a targeted mental health awareness session on Thursday as part of activities marking Men's Mental Health Awareness Month. The outreach initiative, facilitated by the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Unit within the Ministry of the Public Service, Transport, Information and Utilities Regulation, sought to encourage open dialogue around mental health and promote greater awareness of the importance of emotional well-being among men.
Held under the theme "It's Not Weak to Speak," the session provided a safe and supportive environment for male staff members to discuss mental health challenges, explore available support services, and gain practical insights into maintaining positive mental and emotional health both in the workplace and at home. The initiative highlighted the growing recognition that mental health is a critical component of overall well-being and workplace productivity. By encouraging men to speak openly about their experiences and seek assistance when needed, the programme aims to help reduce stigma, strengthen resilience, and foster healthier work environments across the public service.
