THE VIDEO EDUCATES VIEWERS ON VARIOUS FORMS OF GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE.
In a significant step towards raising awareness about gender-based violence, the Do Nation Foundation has released an animated educational video as part of its Engendering Change by Playing Your Part project.
This initiative is generously funded by the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives and the Canadian Government. The release coincides with the culmination of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence and International Human Rights Day, underscoring the urgency of addressing this critical issue.
The animated video produced by Acid Kreationz aims to educate viewers on various forms of gender-based violence, the Domestic Violence Act, its impact on individuals and communities, and the importance of collective action in combating this pervasive problem. By utilizing engaging visuals and relatable narratives, the video seeks to foster a deeper understanding of gender-based violence and encourage proactive measures within society.
The Domestic Violence Act offers protection to everyone, regardless of gender. The Engendering Change project tackles this issue head-on by hosting community workshops, awareness sessions, and educational campaigns that emphasize inclusiveness. We are also focused on dismantling the stigma that deters men from recognizing their rights under the law.
Many men believe these protections are not for them, this misconception not only isolates male victims but perpetuates a culture of silence. The reality is that the law applies to everyone men, women, and children."
Men are encouraged to share their experiences and understand that seeking help is a right, not a weakness. Awareness sessions highlight that recognizing gender-based violence in all its forms helps to create safer, more equitable communities.
We believe that education is a powerful tool in the fight against gender-based violence, said Ms. Diane Felicien, CEO and Founder of Do Nation Foundation. Through this video, we hope to empower individuals to recognize harmful behaviors and take action to support victims and survivors by playing their part.
The Engendering Change by Playing Your Part project encompasses a range of initiatives designed to promote gender equality and raise awareness about violence against women and girls. The Do Nation Foundation remains committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive free from violence and discrimination.
As part of their ongoing efforts, Do Nation Foundation will continue to engage with local communities, schools, and organizations to disseminate information about gender-based violence and promote healthy relationships.
