The Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Transport wishes to inform the public that drainage clearance works are expected to be undertaken on Jeremie Street from Saturday, January 7 to Sunday, January 8, 2023. 

The works will involve cutting through the road surface to create a new opening into the existing storm drain which runs underneath.

This storm drain is currently blocked and has severely affected the flow of water from the New Village drain, resulting in the flooding experienced on Jeremie Street during the recent periods of heavy rainfall.

Once the blockage is cleared, the new opening will be covered by a new grating to allow easier access for future maintenance.

In order to facilitate these works, the section of Jeremie Street from the Chaussee Road intersection to the Chisel Street Intersection will be closed.
