OECS citizens no longer need a visitor’s driving permit to drive motor vehicles in Saint Lucia.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Port Services and Transport, Honorable Philip J. Pierre emphasized that the new arrangement is in compliance with the OECS Free Movement Regime.
“If someone comes to Saint Lucia from protocol member states of the OECS, they do not need to go to the ministry to purchase a visitors permit; they can use the valid license from their country of origin to drive in Saint Lucia.”
Minister Pierre noted given that an economic citizenship program is in effect, then the exemption will also apply to those citizens.
Citizens of the member states of the OECS Economic Union who travel to St Lucia will be able to drive without a visitor's driver’s permit once they are in possession of a valid driver’s license with photo identification and the nationality of their respective OECS member state.
