THE CREOLE CULTURAL CALENDAR IS AN IMPORTANT LEARNING TOOL FOR CREOLE AND CULTURAL LITERACY.
The Board of Directors for Saint Lucia’s Msgr. Patrick Anthony Folk Research Centre (FRC) has officially launched the 2023 Creole Calendar.
Executive Director of the Folk Research Centre, Rhyesa Joseph, said the calendar possesses a wealth of knowledge that is important to Saint Lucians and pays homage to those who have contributed toward national development.
“For us the Creole cultural calendar is important for creole and cultural literacy, and recognizing the individuals within our communities whose human service contribute to Saint Lucia’s development. We are a people of positive values with community at our core,” she said.
Founder of the FRC, Msgr. Patrick Anthony encourages Saint Lucians to use the calendar to expand the use of the creole language.
“For those who don’t understand the creole, there is an English section, so it is a beautiful tool for learning and instruction.”
The creole calendar can be purchased at the Folk Research Centre (in Castries) or at T&M Toy and Stationary (at the Vieux Fort Plaza).
