Gros Islet celebrates 30 years

A month-long schedule of activities will commemorate the observance.

The Gros Islet Constituency Council together with the residents of Gros Islet will celebrate 30 years of township today, August 5. The theme for this year’s celebration is Gros Islet Town: A strong and growing community.

In commemoration, a special church service will be held at the Gros Islet Roman Catholic Church at 6 p.m.

Celebrations started off with annual Gros Islet carnival activities on the Emancipation Day weekend and will continue throughout the month of August with a family day event, games and domino night, a football match, the Pli Belle Komin community competition and a constituency council recognition ceremony for persons who have contributed to the community.
