Parliamentary Representative for Gros Islet, Hon. Kenson Casimir, presented the opening address.
“It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the official opening of the Gros Islet Police Divisional Headquarters. Today marks a significant milestone not only for the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, but also for the people of Gros Islet and indeed for our nation as a whole. This facility stands as a symbol of progress, partnership and our collective commitment to strengthen national security and public service.”
Prime Minister of Saint Lucia and Minister for Justice and National Security, Hon. Philip J. Pierre stressed government’s commitment to improving the working ad living conditions of Saint Lucians, within the fiscal realities of the country.
“We visited this site in November of 2025, and we said that we would deliver to the people of Gros Islet and the people of Saint Lucia the most modern police headquarters in the region. We persevered, and this morning we have delivered to the people of Gros Islet a 35 million dollar project built by Saint Lucians, for Saint Lucia and for the members of the police force.”
The Gros Islet Police Divisional Headquarters will house the Criminal Investigations, Special Services, Crime Scene Investigating, and Traffic Units, as well as an armory, a detention area, a tennis court, gym, and police barracks.
